Kehitysvammatuki 57 ry

Kehitysvammatuki 57, founded in 1957, is one of the oldest and largest non-governmental organisation for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Finland.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to enable them to live as equal citizens in the society. In all our activities we want to make sure that people with disabilities are in active roles in planning and decision making. We promote self-determination and give means for supported decision making.

Our leisure activities for people with disabilities include for example a common meeting place, camps, clubs, peer groups, supported volunteering and trips. We also offer support, information and recreation to families.

We offer daytime service and housing services designed for resident’s individual needs.

To have an impact on the society, we manage and carry out development projects and co-operate with our stakeholders in various networks.
